Decongestant
Pseudoephedrine is a nasal decongestant that relieves a stuffy or blocked nose (nasal congestion). Nasal congestion is caused when blood vessels in the cavities in your nose (sinuses) become swollen. This can happen when you have a cold, a flu, allergies such as hay fever or a sinus infection.
Pseudoephedrine works by causing narrowing of the blood vessels in the nasal passages, therefore relieving the blocked nose and easing breathing.
Antihistamine
The antihistamine ingredient Chlorpheniramine acts against symptoms of allergy, hay fever or cold and flu, such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itchy eyes and nose. This ingredient works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.
By blocking another natural substance made by your body (acetylcholine), it helps dry up some body fluids to relieve symptoms such as watery eyes and runny nose.
